My name is Daniel Du Plessis, and I am the founder of The Clean Sweep.

My journey began in 2014 when I moved from Hermanus to Cape Town in search of new opportunities. For many years, I worked in the retail industry selling cleaning products. During that time, I gained valuable knowledge about cleaning solutions, customer service, and the importance of delivering quality results.

In 2023:
I made the decision to leave retail and pursue my dream of building something of my own. What started as informal house cleaning soon grew into a professional cleaning service. As demand increased, I expanded my services to include carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning, allowing me to provide more comprehensive solutions to my clients.

Building a business from the ground up was not easy. I often worked long days and late nights, determined to create a better future for myself and my family. To promote my services, I personally printed and distributed marketing pamphlets throughout local neighborhoods, placing them in mailboxes and knocking on doors whenever I had the opportunity. Every new client was earned through hard work, consistency, and a commitment to excellence.

A major turning point in my journey came when I met Dewald, who is now my business partner. He recognized my determination, work ethic, and commitment to delivering quality service. Believing in my vision, he invested in my future and helped me purchase my first carpet cleaning machine. That single act of support significantly increased my productivity and allowed me to expand my service offerings. It was a moment that helped transform my small operation into a growing business.

In April 2025:
The Clean Sweep was officially registered as a company in South Africa. Shortly thereafter, we secured our first major project, which marked a significant milestone in our growth. That opportunity helped establish The Clean Sweep as a trusted and respected service provider within the industry.

Throughout this journey, Dewald has remained a constant source of encouragement and support. His belief in me and in what we were building together played an important role in our success, and I will always be grateful for his contribution to the company.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned came from my mother. She always reminded me: "Your reputation precedes you, so build a good name in the world. That lesson has stayed with me throughout my life and continues to guide both my personal and professional decisions.

Today, I run my business according to three simple principles:

- Always be honest
- Always be reliable
- Always be punctual

These values form the foundation of everything we do at The Clean Sweep.

What makes our company different is our commitment to quality. I remain actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the business and personally oversee many of the cleaning projects we undertake. We use high-quality cleaning products and proven cleaning methods to ensure our clients receive the best possible results. Alongside a team of experienced and dedicated cleaners, I manage projects of all sizes while maintaining the standards that helped build our reputation.

Currently:
The Clean Sweep proudly serves dozens of satisfied clients across the Western Cape, particularly throughout the Cape Town suburbs. Looking back on how far we have come fills me with gratitude and pride. What started as a dream and a willingness to work hard has grown into a trusted business that continues to make a difference in people's homes and workplaces.
